Yesterday was quite a day for horrific incidences. I'm sure all of you heard about the man who killed his wife and five children and then himself because he and his wife lost their jobs. I can't imagine what was going through his head when he commited these atrocious acts. I hope that his children weren't frightened and that they had no idea what was going on, though I can't imagine that they didn't. I just don't understand some people. I can't imagine the pain that their grandparents are feeling.
Yesterday, I also heard about a little boy that was injured and subsequently killed when a TV set fell on him. Here's a link:http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=148&sid=5431801
That hits a little to close to home for me. So if you have children and didn't learn the "anchor the TV" lesson from me, please learn from this poor grieving family. It can happen so easily. And remember, that it can happen anywhere, not just in your home, but in the babysitter's home, or at a friend's house. This one is something you can control.
God bless you all and remember these families in your prayers. I'm sure they need all the prayer they can get.

SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know that not all of you are excited for Barack Obama to become our president today, but I am! And even if you're not, I hope that you are at least excited at how far our country has come.
What a joyous morning, the day that we are able to see race lines erased and see a black man become president. I am so thankful to live in a time when we are becoming undivided. I pray for President Obama and his family. I pray for the people who hate him and hope that they have the courage to pray for him also. I pray for our country and hope that it can recover from the crisis that it is in. I pray that we as Americans can be united, whether Obama was your guy in November or not.Obama is the President now and needs all the support he can get. I admire ANYONE who wanted to be president in this time. The economy is a mess, our country is hated by other countries and it seems that the world is spinning out of control. Lately, I have been hearing people say very negative things. To them, I say, Shame on you! He is a man with a wife and children. He is someone's son, someone's grandson, someone's uncle, someone's son-in-law. He is not just a black president, he is THE president. He deserves life just as much as the next person. And on top of all that, he is just as white as he is black, so what's the big deal? Get over it! He's going to swear on a Bible, and he's going to salute the flag, and he's going to bow his head to pray. I hope that the rumors and the falsities and negativity can stop and people can focus on Obama's presidency and the good things that he plans on doing.
God Bless America!!!!! That's all...for now.

What's the big deal??
I was watching the "E! Live From the Red Carpet of the Golden Globes" this morning and was watching Ryan Seacrest completely diss Beyonce just to get an interview with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. It was ridiculous. And then Megan Fox (from... um, I don't even know what show she was on) starts talking about having a 22 inch waist. Who says that? Her exact words were, "Well, I have a 22 inch waist. I can tell you that." Good grief.
So anyway, back to Ryan and Brad and Angie... Ryan takes off after them, and they completely dissed him. It was so stupid. And then the Julianne lady that hosts with Ryan was all excited because "Brad and Angelina are right behind us!"
So my question is, What's the big deal?? They bleed red just like the rest of us. They are no different, except in the profession that they chose. I personally think it would be neat to meet them, but not to have a "brush with fame" but rather to exchange parenting advice (they probably have a nanny). I think that Brad and Angelina seem like cool people, but I wouldn't drop dead if I ever met them. They are just people.
I hate tabloids and paparazzi because they have turned celebrities into more than they really are. It's so annoying. I'm sick of it. Today begins my "no more celebs" campaign. No more E!, no more tabloids. And definitely no more red carpet shows. So dumb.I'm done.

The big 3-0
Well, it finally happened. I turned 30!! WOW!! It seems like only yesterday I was a kid and now here I am: a mother of 4, a wife and a thirty-something. I came to terms with it when I looked in the mirror last night and thought, "Man, I look haggard for a twenty-something, but I'm going to look great as a thirty-something." I guess that's a good way of looking at it. People will find out I'm 30 and say, "Well, you look great for your age." So if any of you ever see me, you'd better say that because that's what I'm hanging on to!! Just kidding. You don't have to say that. Even if I hadn't come to terms with it, I couldn't keep it from happening.
We had the family and my BFF Angie and her fam up at the in-law's house for my party. I got a gift card from Aunt Pam, some money from my mom and dad in-law, a digital picture frame from Chad, and a foot soaker/massager from the kids. I so enjoyed having everybody there and feel so lucky to have the friends and family that I have.

Wow! What a year! Just some Jocelyn ramblings.
Well, another year has come and gone. It has been a roller coaster ride for almost everybody I know.
As for me, well, I am so in love with my husband, it is wonderful. He is my best friend and I'm proud to say that even after almost 10 years together, we're still as crazy about each other as ever. I love all of my kids so much, I think I would die if something happened to one of them. I know that that is something that woud seem so obvious to say, but I honestly think it's true. I miss them so terribly when they're not with me.
Halle turned 10 last year, and I can't imagine what the next 10 years has in store for her. I hope that she realizes her dreams and is able to follow them wherever they lead her. Ethan is 8 now and I can't believe that. He is turning into such a wonderful young man. And he is learning to push his sisters' buttons. Smart boy. Jayci is 3 and is a spitfire. She loves everybody so so much and is the light of our home. She loves to make everybody happy and we love when she tries to make us happy. And then there's little Kamryn. She is everybody's baby doll. We all love to watch her grow and learn everything that she will.
As I look down the barrell of the big 3-0, I realize how quickly time truly does fly by. I haven't found a way to stop it, or even slow it down, so I have realized that I have to enjoy every moment as best I can. I try not to take any of it for granted. This thing called 'age' has made me more wise (according to me) and more patient. It has made me appreciate everything that I have: the good AND the bad. Everything that happens happens for a reason. I know now that each person is placed in our lives for a reason and as time goes by, we realize that reason. It may not be ideal, or what we thought would happen, but it happens and the lesson is in what we learn from it.
I'm happy to say, at this moment, I'm friends with people I never thought I'd be friends with. These people are important to me and my family and I hope that they are proud to be my friends.
I stand up for myself and my family and take pride in the fact that they are my 1 priority. And becuase of this I have quit friends that weren't good for me and my family.
So I'll end this with a thank you. To all of you who will read this. There have been almost 1,000 views on my blog and I'm so thankful that so many of you care enough about me to read the words that I have to say. I want you to know that I appreciate all of you and am blessed to have you all as friends.
God Bless all of you, and I hope the New Year brings only good things to you.
